There are several songs named “Christmas Without Daddy” or a close variation thereof. Maybe the most famous one is by Loretta Lynn, in which the kids are asking “every day a few more questions” about what happened to their old man and one of them even asks Santa to send the guy home. There’s also “First Christmas Without Daddy” by the country group Alabama, in which the family gathers after their Pop’s passing and asks “who’s gonna lead the family prayer?” This one, by polka band Joe Walega and His Happy Hearts, is more in the vein of the Alabama track, though it has its own unique qualities, namely a lot of synth-sounding drums and strings on top of the more traditional polka instruments, and a lot of mentions in the lyrics about how Mom is cooking and cleaning for everyone and putting dishes away after the big Christmas meal. Not every holiday song lets the listener in on the family chores!
