Today is the 76th birthday of Keith Richards. He is living proof of the greatness of rock & roll music – and of the resilience of the human species. I am among those who would not be surprised if Keef outlived all of us, despite all the odds.
Today’s holiday song is the Keith version of Chuck Berry’s “Run Rudolph Run,” released kind of out of nowhere in 1978 as a holiday single. There was a time when this song was hard to track down, and in the late 90s/early 2000s, when I was first building up my holiday music collection, I tried and tried and tried to find it… without luck. Fortunately those unhappy times are behind us and we can celebrate the timelessness of the season with the most timeless man rock ever produced!
