Health is on my mind today because of this report of a technology that could replace stitches and help our bodies heal more effectively after injury or surgery.

Amazingly, it’s a hot glue gun!

No, we aren’t just going to use glue sticks to patch people up, but that’s also not too far off either.

Medical glues are already used in a variety of ways to help patients.

A team at Technion–Israel Institute of Technology developed a way to use medical glue to bind human tissue together instead of stitches and medical pins.

Practitioners would heat up the glue in, essentially, a hot glue gun, and then spray it onto a person.

It would keep everything connected like stitches do, without leaving scars from the stitch-attachment process.

It’s nontoxic, so it can be used on internal and external injuries, it stays flexible once in place, and it’s biodegradable, so once the tissue is healed, it just sort of goes away.

Just don’t store the medical glue gun with your craft supplies, you wouldn’t want to accidentally add sequins or glitter to your patient. Or at least not much.

Meanwhile, the World Egg Throwing Championship is back in the UK community of Swaton, Lincolnshire.

The marquee contest is an event in which the team that can throw the egg the furthest and catch it without the egg breaking is the winner.

There are also relay races, egg trebuchet, and throwing eggs at a guy in a suit of armor.

You can get points depending on where you hit him.

All of it overseen by the World Egg Throwing Federation, of course.
