For my money John Prine’s “Christmas In Prison” is the unchallenged champion of holidays-in-lockup songs, but this track by the Marshall Tucker Band is extra catchy and jaunty and probably more fun than it should be given the premise. It also has an outstanding description of Santa Claus: “He looked like Charlie Daniels in a bright red suit.”
