This holiday season could use a shot of the blues, and few have played the blues better than the Velvet Bulldozer, Albert King. His album “Born Under A Bad Sign” was such a landmark that Cream basically became an Albert King tribute band when they covered the title track. For his 1974 holiday single, King plays the heck out of a fun and funky song from “Mustang Sally” author Mack Rice. Well, this version is meant to be fun, but the premise is that Kris Kringle is actually sneaking into everyone’s houses each year to get amorous, so you could probably do a pretty sinister take on this song if you wanted.
