25 Days of Holiday Songs 2025: “Funky Funky Christmas” by New Kids On The Block

First we brought you the novelty hit “Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer.” Then, we had a New Kids On The Block-themed parody. Now, in the interests of equal time, here are the New Kids themselves, getting into a holiday groove on their third album, “Merry, Merry Christmas.’

“Funky Funky Christmas” is, at times, not much more than a refrain and a beat, and it seems safe to say that the group spent more time on the album’s single, “This One’s For The Children,” than they did on this track. But the New Kids at least sound like they’re having a good time singing and rapping and turning Santa into a DJ, even if the last line of the song is “Yo man, yo, get all them reindeers and let’s bust out of here.”
