25 Days of Holiday Songs: “Little Drummer Boy” by Grace Jones

We go back to the Pee-Wee’s Playhouse well for today’s holiday tune, from the one and only Grace Jones!

The premise of this one is wild even by the Playhouse’s standard: Reba the Mail Lady drops by to tell Pee-Wee that someone sent him a gigantic package, and when he opens the wooden crate, Grace Jones is inside. “This isn’t the White House!” she says, and only then does Reba realize that the crate had been sent to the wrong house. Making lemons out of lemonade, Grace offers to sing a song before heading to Washington.

It’s even weirder than it sounds, which means it’s just right.
