Coming soon to a sky near you: the Great Conjunction of 2020! It sounds like an episode of a “School House Rock” but it actually means two planets aligning in the Earth sky. This time it’s Jupiter and Saturn, a combination that probably hasn’t been observed by humans for about 800 years.

It’s been suggested that the star of Bethlehem in the original Christmas story was also a planetary conjunction, so for the next few days I have some space-themed Christmas songs for you.

Ok, I was going to post a bunch of space songs anyway, but this is a good excuse to do it. Let’s start with Japanese punk rock sensations Shonen Knife, who are as excited for December 25th as anybody and would like nothing better than a space ship under the tree!
