How old were you when you got your first guitar, and what kind was it? – Gary

I think it was Christmas when I was in seventh grade. A knockoff of the Les Paul Black Beauty. Like many guitars of that range it had some physical problems – especially with the neck. Eventually my brother and I had to dismantle it and Frankenstein the usable pieces into another guitar. But man could it sing. I even got to play it onstage at Metro in Chicago when I broke a string on my Strat.
