There aren’t a lot of holiday songs based on the 80s cult classic “Road House,” but there’s one. And that one may just be enough. Mystery Science Theater 3000 put together “Patrick Swayze Christmas” and while Crow T. Robot occasionally gets a little too worked up about tearing throats out and kicking people in the ear, it’s still a festive happening.

My band Jumping Bomb Angel played this a couple times at our live shows in the late 90s. Maybe one or two people got the joke. But, as Joel Hodgson liked to say about MST3K, the right people got it.
