Ten years ago I got stuck at the airport around Christmas. It snowed hard on my way out of town, delaying my flight by almost an entire day. The weather calmed down once I was at my destination, but when it was time to go home? You guessed it, the snow started right back up and I was stranded again. Both times I was at the Philadelphia Airport, which is not a bad place to be if you’re stranded, but when it’s past midnight and you have nothing left in the tank, but you need to stay up because you don’t know when your flight is actually going to depart, people do get a little weary. I saw a guy in a Santa suit, and even he was feeling it.

If you’re traveling for this holiday, here’s hoping you don’t get stuck at the airport, but if you do, I hope you have better luck than I did, and I hope you can make the most of it like Nick Lowe does in his remarkable song “Christmas At The Airport”:
