Another 25 Days of Holiday Songs: “Early Christmas Morning” by Cyndi Lauper

It’s actually Christmas! And I hope yours is full of the joy that I hear every time I put this Cyndi Lauper song on.

This is one of the very first songs I have put on every December 25th for decades, but it’s extra special these days because I have three young people who come down the stairs early Christmas morning and they realize that it’s actually, finally Christmas morning, and they just glow. They really do dance around the tree like the song says, and to get to see that happen is… oh dear, I’m tearing up as I write this. Better go and collect myself before they wake up!

Whatever this year has been like for you, whatever next year may inflict on us, here’s hoping that today is, for you and for everyone, full of joy and happiness and maybe even a few presents. Merry Christmas! And yes, I’ll have 25 more songs next year, though not many are gonna top this one.
