It’s the thirteenth day of December so I had to choose a metal track. This comes from a 2008 compilation which includes team-ups of some of the biggest names in the genre. It’s a half-reunion of the second Black Sabbath lineup, with Ronnie James Dio on vocals and Tony Iommi on the doom guitar (the riffs here remind me a lot of “Electric Funeral” from Sabbath’s “Paranoid” album), joined by hard rock journeymen Rudy Sarzo on bass and Simon Wright on drums. Tidings of comfort and joy never sounded so terrifying.
