Today’s the 30th anniversary of the first broadcast of “Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire,” the holiday episode that launched six to nine years of classic TV.

It’s also the anniversary of the day the Wright Brothers pulled off the first flight (in a craft that later would be stolen by Sideshow Bob):
