Lisa – I believe it was C. Wright Mill who wrote that home improvement projects were an opiate for the masses. It was part of a list that also included team tennis, wet cardboard, “Honky Cat” by Elton John and the “Elbows of the Bay City Rollers” trading card set.

Mill released a second list the following year, but it didn’t work out as well because it was just a copy of his weekly shopping list with the word “Vicodin” scribbled in at the end.
