There’s a note about this day on the John Lennon album Walls and Bridges.

It reads, “On the 23rd August 1974 at 9 o’clock I saw a U.F.O. – J.L.”

Lennon said he was looking out the window “in my usual poetic frame of mind,” when he saw “a thing with ordinary electric light bulbs flashing on and off round the bottom, one non-blinking red light on top.”

He said it was hovering above a building about 100 feet away.

Before you ask, Lennon said he was sober at the time.

Plus, his then-partner May Pang saw it too – she described it as a large, object quote “shaped like a flattened cone.”

You might say Lennon was a dreamer, but he’s not the only one.

Whatever this encounter actually was – I think that, instead of a UFO in the sky, it was Lucy with diamonds – quite a few other famous musicians have reported encounters like the one Lennon and Pang had.

Jimi Hendrix and his brother Leon say they saw a UFO out their back window in Washington state.

Hendrix went on to add UFO imagery to a number of his songs.

In the 60s, Rolling Stone Keith Richards thought his house in England was a UFO landing site, though he reportedly preferred these visitors to the authorities who had raided his place trying to find illegal drugs the year before.

And Miley Cyrus says she and a friend were driving around San Bernadino when an object she described as a “flying snowplow” started chasing them down.

“It looked at me and we made eye contact,” she said later, “and I think that’s what really shook me, looking into the eyes of something that I couldn’t quite wrap my head around.”

At least it didn’t hit her like a wrecking ball.

If you do a search online for famous people who saw UFOs, you might see the name of Alexander the Great.

Supposedly he saw big silver shields flying in the sky back in 332 BCE!

Except that historians say these supposed accounts can only be traced back to the 1950s.

Also, all these unsubstantiated reports say is that there were shields flying through the air, so they could have been thrown by soldiers rather than being the work of aliens.
